Our Church
The Church of All Saints Welborne

The
Building
Our lovely village church has stood on this spot since the 11th Century. It is one of the Norfolk Round Tower churches.
As you approach via the Lych Gate, which was made in 1880 by a local woodcarver, a Mr. John Parley, you must look up and see the fine carvings he produced.
But to really appreciate the church’s beauty a visit inside is a must.
It has a very ornate Rood Screen, which was painted and gilded in 1912. The Reredos also calls for closer inspection to view the fine details it has within it.
The choir stalls have some fine carvings, which again need a closer look to appreciate the detail they contain.
The font is a medieval one, and is still used for baptisms today; it was restored to its original place after standing in the churchyard for about 50 years.
Apart from the building All Saints Welborne has a very welcoming church family; there is a service here every Sunday with time after for tea, coffee and a chat.
We do hope you will be able to join with us, the times of the services are:
When there is a 5th Sunday there is a Benefice Service at 10.30am held at either – East Tuddenham, Hockering, Mattishall, North Tuddenham, Welborne or Yaxham.
(the venue will be posted on the church door)
