                                       THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMME IS AVAILABLE

We have a really full programme of events - all free with the festival entry ticket. Such amazing value! Please click on the Daytime Programme button on the left hand side of the Home Page to see details of the timed events at the Welborne Arts Festival. We hope this is the definitive version but weather and “the unexpected” can affect it, so check back again closer to the festival to make sure you are not disappointed. ———

Not disasters, but the topics of the science, art and writing workshops taking place at Barnham Broom, Mattishall and Yaxham primary schools this week (18th - 22nd May).

Each school has had a talk from an internationally-recognised scientist, followed by poetry writing with a professional writer and art with a professional environmental artist. Judging by the smiles of the pupils (and the teachers) and the astounding quality of the poems and art work, we think they have been a great success. See the results at the festival and come to talk to the expert scientist/artist pupils in the Sci-Art Laboratory at the festival on the morning of Saturday 13th June. These workshops, aimed at integrating art and science, are possible only thanks to the fundraising events of local people, personal sponsors and a grant for £2000 from the Ernest Cook Trust. Thank you all. ———

BUNTING FOR WELBORNE ARTS FESTIVAL                                                                                                                                                         bunting

Well, maybe it was a good excuse for coffee and cakes and a social afternoon……… but last week volunteers from Welborne and Mattishall got together and made 80 metres of bunting. One more afternoon and we should have enough, join us if you wish (tel. 01362 850492). ———

THE WEATHER FORECAST. We really hope for sunshine, but it doesn’t really matter if it rains or shines. Either way there’s plenty of shelter - the Big Top, 9 marquees, 4 gazebos, the village hall and the church. Just wear wellies for walking between them all. ———

VOLUNTEERS. If you’d like to get involved we would appreciate a few more volunteers to help out the week before, or during, the festival. We are a friendly bunch, so son’t be shy, please contact us via the website Contacts button. ———

SPREAD THE WORD. Through FACEBOOK and TWITTER. We’ve worked hard to provide a really fun festival at a price all can afford. Help us to get the word out - so please get tweeting, ” like” us on Facebook, comment on Streetlife, and talk to friends and family. THANK YOU, see you at the Welborne Arts Festival!

THE PRESS LIKE US The schools’ Science, Art and Writing projects (run in conjunction with the SAW Trust) were featured in the Dereham Times on Thursday May 28th….great pictures of pupils at Barnham Broom primary school constructing sea defences.
We have a two page spread in The Norfolk Magazine with an amazing picture of the head of the West Runton Mammoth and of Dr Ken and Matt Watson. If you want to see what two of the festival organisers look like then you can see us in there, too. Then you can come to say hello to us at the festival.

PROGRAMME UPDATE It always happens, there are always last minute updates to the programme, so check each week to make sure you don’t miss your favourite events. The time of the Norwich Puppet Theatre’s puppet making workshop is changed from 1.00-4.00 to 1.30 - 4.30 on both days.
