Rachel Hore was born in Surrey and moved to Norwich with her family in 2001 after living in London for many years where she worked as a book editor, latterly with HarperCollins Publishers. She now teaches publishing-related courses at the University of East Anglia. Rachel is the author of four published novels: The Dream House (2006), The Memory Garden (2007), The Glass Painter's Daughter (2009), which was shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists' Association Romantic Novel of the Year 2010, and A Place of Secrets (2010), which was a Richard and Judy Bookclub selection. Her next novel will be published by Simon & Schuster in September 2011. She is married to the writer D.J. Taylor and has three sons. |

Elspeth Barker is a novelist and journalist. She was born in 1940 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her first husband was the poet George Barker by whom she had five children, including the novelist Raffaella Barker. In 2007 she married the writer Bill Troop. She was educated in Scotland and at Oxford. Her novel O Caledonia won four awards and was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize. |

She has worked as tutor and lecturer in creative writing at Norwich School of Art (MA and BA). She has published short stories in numerous anthologies and has read and lectured at festivals and universities around the world. For three years she was a judge for the McKitterick and Sagittarius prizes. She is currently finishing a novel for Penguin and has been writing for Country Illustrated and The Literary Review.

Helen trained for many years in music, theatre and ballet, and made her first professional appearance at the age of 12 with the Royal Festival Ballet in London. Helen moved into television first at Westward TV in Plymouth , then to Norwich to work as a continuity announcer for Anglia Tv. Helen soon went on to be one of the main anchors for the daily magazine “About Anglia”. Helen was part of a successful consortium who bid for the new radio station for Norwich , 999 Radio Norwich. Helen’s chosen charities are Macmillan Cancer Relief and Age Uk Norfolk . Ten years ago Helen teamed up with Des Barrit to form OhYesItIz Productions, to produce and appear in professional pantomime in East Anglia to encourage young audiences to enjoy live theatre and employ local professional actors. |

A former newspaper and radio journalist, Mike Stewart worked in media for nearly 40 years. He started as a news and sport journalist on newspapers in the Midlands, before moving into radio as Breakfast News Editor at BRMB Birmingham and later as Head of News and Sport at stations in Wolverhampton and Bristol. He helped to launch Radio Broadland in Norwich in 1984 as Programme Director and became Group Programme Director for East Anglian Radio with stations in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. He was appointed Managing Director of SGR fm/Amber Radio in Ipswich and Colchester in 1996 and more recently co-founded Norwich Radio Group to bid for new radio licences in the area. Now retired, he lives in the Barnham Broom area. |
