Howard Burton and Joe Tozer
Sunday 19th June 14.30-15:15, on the meadow
Drawing influences from various genres of Americana, Bluegrass and Folk music, Howard Burton and Joe Tozer have developed a sound of their own. It’s an exciting acoustic fusion of banjo, mandolin and guitar accompanied by dynamic and captivating vocals. Although Howard  resides in the UK, he has performed in the USA as well as Europe to glowing reviews. He has played in some of the best bands that the UK can offer, has a solo CD "Britain by Bluegrass", and gives private tuition and banjo workshops.

Joe is a fifteen year old guitarist and mandolin player from North Norfolk who plays bluegrass music and folk music from the British Isles. After playing at the Surrey Mini Bluegrass Festival 2010 with Howard Burton Joe was described in the British Bluegrass News as “a young man who really stole the show” and an “extraordinary talent on the mandolin and guitar”. Since then he has played at the Cambridge Folk Festival and has played on various radio folk programmes.

John Ward and Mario Price
Saturday 18th June 14.30-15:15, on the meadow
John has been described as an energetic, passionate and spirited performer who successfully combines humour with thought-provoking songs. Over 20 years' experience on guitars and harmonica has gained John a well earned reputation as an excellent musician, but he is also renowned for his breath-taking bodhran solos.  In June 2004 John had his first book, an epic poem entitled ‘ The Iron Bridge’ published and performed and in March 2005 released his fourth album, ‘ Common Ground’.

The outstanding violinist Mario Price Mario’s inventive improvisation and sensitive harmonies are a wonderful accompaniment to John’s songs. His versatility is shown in his ferocious jigs and reels, stirring Gypsy music and swinging jazz tunes, all played with a mixture of Welsh/Italian passion, and the occasional inclusion of the double bass.

Matthew Williams + hurdy gurdy
Sunday 19th June 15.30 - 16.30, around and about
Matt is a pianist who also plays hurdy gurdy and he likes to combine the two instruments – however this is not possible on his own in real time, so at Weyborne he’ll be sticking with the gurdy.
Matt has recorded a number of original pieces, some of which can be found on his site at www.soundclick.com (search for mattwill75).

He says he gets his inspiration when out on his bike - like the hurdy gurdy, it relies on rotary movement.  He also keeps bees, which may be where the buzzing noise comes from.
